Obstetrics and Gynecology
Since our beginning days, GHHM has had great concern for the care of pregnant women and their young children. Our specialists provide medical and surgical care to women and have particular expertise in pregnancy, childbirth, and disorders of the reproductive system.
We have specialized services in obstetrics and gynecology. Our specialist provides medical and surgical care to women and has particular expertise in pregnancy, childbirth, and disorders of the reproductive system. This includes preventative care, prenatal care, detection of sexually transmitted diseases, surgery, etc.
General Surgery
GHHM is able to offer general surgery in our modern operating room. Our surgeons are able to perform a wide variety of surgeries even on an emergency basis.

GHHM is also able to provide free surgeries when we are hosting medical teams visiting from the University of Minnesota medical school. Immunizations
Vaccines are key to the prevention of health issues. They allow the body to build an immunity to illness while not actually falling ill. Vaccines are so important that we administer vaccines in our hospital as well as our via Mobile Health Clinic. (To learn more about our Mobile Health Clinic, click here.)

The government provided vaccines that we administer include DPT/HepB, BCG, TT, IPV, OPV, HPV, Rota Virus and PCV. All government-provided vaccines are administered free of charge. We also offer Hepatitis B and anti-rabies vaccines at a low-cost.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound is an imaging technique used to visualize internal body structures such as tendons, muscles, joints, and blood vessels. It is used to monitor the growth and development of babies before birth as well as for diagnosing a variety of other conditions. Our highly skilled ultrasound technicians can take care of your medical imaging needs.
X-ray
GHHM now offers x-rays onsite. This exciting addition to the services provided by GHHM helps to diagnose bones and chronic coughs (often used in investigating tuberculosis and pneumonia). Patients can now remain at GHHM rather than suffer the cost and aggravation of transferring to another facility for their x-ray. Having our X-ray on site also assures that our ambulance is available for emergencies rather than being used for the transportation of a patient to another facility. X-ray are available everyday and on an on-call basis during the night.

Lab Services
Our ever expanding lab services allow patients to receive test results quickly and at an affordable price. We currently offer lab test in clinical chemistry, hematology, micro-biology, parastology, serology and blood transfusion.

At GHHM, malaria testing is free. When cost can be prohibitive, these free tests inspire patients to check if their illness is malaria. These patients then receive treatment earlier than they usually would. In 2018, GHHM tested 11,008 patients for malaria; leading 1,544 (14%) who tested positive to seek treatment.

Dental Services
Our dental service adheres to standard operating procedures (such as sterilization standards) and uses multiple interventions in order to save the teeth. Many dental providers in Uganda are limited to teeth extraction. Our dental services include: root canal treatment, professional cleaning (scaling and polishing), permanent filling, crowns, dentures, bridges, and when necessary, extractions.
Optometric Services
Our Optometric Services are available through our partnership with ReSpectacle. Thanks to ReSpectacle, patients at GHHM can receive an eye examination which will match them with a donated pair of eye glasses from the US. The glasses received through ReSpectale are free of charge.
Onsite Pharmacy
Having our pharmacy onsite is not only convenient for our patients and staff, it also assures GHHM always has medications available and at the most affordable price possible.
Ambulance Services
The main role of our ambulance service is to respond to emergency calls, providing medical care to patients across the community and surrounding areas, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are also able to offer pre-arranged patient transfers. Transfers include moving patients between their homes, our hospital, various health centers, or referral hospitals.
Mobile Public Health Care
Our Mobile Health Clinic (MHC) extends the reach of GHHM. Once served by our ambulance, our MHC is now operated out of a 4x4 truck that is built to handle Uganda’s rough roads. To learn more about our MHC and how you can schedule a visit to your school or area, click here.
